Safegaurding
At our nursery, the safety and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority. We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children in our care, ensuring they are protected, feel secure and are supported to thrive.

We follow robust safeguarding procedures in line with current legislation and guidance, including the principles of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Our policies and practices are regularly reviewed to ensure they remain effective and up to date.

Our Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) are Jigna Bhudia and Gemma Cutler, who are responsible for overseeing all safeguarding and child protection matters within the setting. They ensure that any concerns are managed appropriately and in line with local authority procedures. All staff are fully trained in safeguarding and child protection and refresh their training every two years, with regular updates to ensure their knowledge remains current and effective.

We are also part of Operation Encompass, a national initiative that supports children who may have been exposed to domestic abuse. This enables us to provide timely and appropriate support to children’s emotional wellbeing when it is needed most.

We have clear procedures in place for identifying, recording and reporting concerns, and we work closely with external agencies when necessary to ensure children and families receive the support they need.

Through a strong culture of vigilance, care and professionalism, we aim to create a safe, secure and nurturing environment where every child feels protected, valued and able to flourish.
